Wednesday, March 20th 2019, the ROGER members and the team responsible for research at the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology hosted the launch of the RESUPH research platform (https://resuph.projects.uvt.ro/) and the volume University Writing in Central and Eastern Europe: Tradition, Transition, and Innovation (Springer, 2018).

The first part of the meeting was dedicated to the Research Support Platform for Humanities (RESUPH ), which is designed for professors and researchers interested in funding opportunities for projects in the field of humanities. The new platform is complementary to the Department for Scientific Research and Creative Science (DCSCU), which contributes to informing the academic community about opportunities to access and implement projects. The FLIT action supports researchers in humanities, who now have the opportunity to quickly and efficiently identify sources of funding or research partners. This page is an output of the ROGER team, initiated by Dr. Madalina Chitez (researcher at the Department of Modern Languages and Literatures), under the coordination of the Vice-Dean responsible for research at the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology, conf. dr. Valy Ceia.

The second part of the meeting was dedicated to the launch of the book University Writing in Central and Eastern Europe: Tradition, Transition, and Innovation (Springer, 2018), to which several members of the FLIT academic community contributed as co-editors: dr. Mădălina Chitez, lect. dr. Claudia Doroholschi, conf. dr. Dumitru Tucan. The publication is the result of research from the LIDHUM international project (Literacy Development in Humanities: Creating Competence Centers for the Enhancement of Reading and Writing Skills as a Part of University Teaching, project SCOPES IZ74Z0_137428 funded by the Swiss National Science Foundation), in which West University of Timișoara was partner with universities from Switzerland, Macedonia and Ukraine. Alongside the creation of the Academic and Professional Writing Center (Romanian: CSAP) in 2012, the volume is intended for the public who are interested in developing their writing skills and the ability to critically relate to the writing process and its outcomes. University Writing in Central and Eastern Europe: Tradition, Transition, and Innovation creates a map of institutional approaches in Central and Eastern Europe in the field of academic writing, being a first step towards the development of these studies in Romania.
