ROGER

One of the ROGER team members attended the ELN Training School on Text Quality Assessment: Current Digital Methods and Rating Practices, held in Winterthur, Switzerland between April 10 – 12 2019.

Because ROGER aims to develop a methodology for the analysis of academic writing genres at Romanian universities in a contrastive perspective, rating practices and text quality assessment are extremely important in understanding what and how students write at university level in both English and Romanian. Writing practices, specific linguistic structures and literacy skills in academic genres are some of the aspects which are studied in this corpus-based research. The ELN Training School offered several approaches to evaluation of text quality, an introduction to tools and measures, coding and rating practices.

Roxana Rogobete received a travel grant for this event (included in COST Action IS1401 ELN), after writing a proposal connected to her lastest publication, which was released in 2019 in Timișoara and Bucharest at Bookfest International Book Fairs (5.04.2019 and 30.05.2019): Migrant Literature in the German-Language Cultural Area. The Chamisso List. The Rise and Fall of a Group Portrait.
