ROGER

The AWICNET (Academic Writing Collection Network) project is subordinated to the ROGER project (Academic genres at the crossroads of tradition and internationalization:  Corpus-based interlanguage research on genre use in student writing at Romanian universities), which is ongoing at the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology of West University of Timișoara and involves the creation of an intra-university network for the collection of texts written by students. The project starts in April 2019 and runs for a period of 2 years.

The aim of the collection of academic texts is to create the ROGER (Romanian Genre Corpus) bilingual corpus. The creation of this corpus will help researchers to decide on the current trends of academic writing of Romanian students, by disciplinary genres and writing languages (Romanian or English).

In the framework of the AWICNET project, the Faculty of Letters, History and Theology is launching a call for applications for an AWICNET research collaboration grant. The work will take place at the applicants’ home university.

The 12-month AWICNET research-collaboration grant is aimed at experienced academics from Romanian universities (see list below) in various academic fields (see list below). AWICNET grant winners will carry out research-collaboration activities to collect academic texts for inclusion in the ROGER database.
